The Sheet Metal Machine Operator is responsible for staging and placing raw material needed to spot weld parts as required. The Sheet Metal Machine Operator provides assistance and support to the Sheet Metal Shop operating a variety of machines, and assisting on projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate spot welder and setup table in accordance with manufacture instruction.
· Set up and stage raw material.
· Assist with pressbrake and rolling operations.
· Interpret blueprints to setup parts
· Transfer spot welded material to pallets for next stage in operation
· Perform routine machine maintenance.
· Keep written record of tasks performed, time spent, and any other additional data required by project.
· Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and working areas in clean, neat, and orderly condition; use prescribed safety equipment and follow safety rules.
· Provide assistance and support to sheet metal shop on a variety of additional tasks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
· 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or applicable machine operation experience.
· Forklift experience and/or applicable certification.
· Basic math and communication skills required

Physical Requirements
· Ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push objects weighing up to 50lbs.
· Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
· Prolonged stooping, kneeling, walking and standing.
· Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
